Seven Films I Wish I Could See At SXSW

While some of the Mashable crew is going to be at SXSW, (make sure to say hi to Pete, Kristen and Tamar as they make the rounds) the rest of us will be hanging back at our computers to keep the site running. While there isn't a lot of reason for my love of movies to come out on the site, I am a huge film fanatic, so I thought I'd take some time to share with you the 7 films I wish I was seeing at the show, though there are numerous works worth your attention..

21 - Based on the true story of an MIT professor, played by Kevin Spacey, and his students that he turned into a card counting crew that took Las Vegas casinos for millions. Also stars Laurence Fishburne, which along with Spacey, just about makes it a certainty this will be a great movie.

Crawford - What happens when a man buys a house in a town of 705 residents, and then that man becomes the President of the United States? Crawford tells the tale of Crawford, TX, and what happened once their newest resident, George W. Bush, became the President. No official site, but you can find the trailer on YouTube.

Dreams With Sharp Teeth - Someone decided to be brave and make a film about the life of Harlan Ellison, the infamous science fiction writer known as well for his acerbic tongue as his masterful writing. The trailer is on the site, and considering Mr. Ellison's well known verbal sparring with people, it is most assuredly NSFW.

Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay - A love of films doesn't mean you can't appreciate some silliness also. The first Harold & Kumar didn't seem primed for a sequel, but leave it to Hollywood to go ahead with one, but it looks to be a nice mixture of drug humor, political commentary, and Neil Patrick Harris riding a unicorn... what more can you ask for? You can check out the trailer here.

Run, Fat Boy, Run - I'm not sure I should be excited about a David Schwimmer directed film, but starring Simon Pegg, who has gained massive geek cred for his turns on Spaced and in Shaun of the Dead, and the ever-amusing Hank Azaria, it's hard to resist. The trailer (available on the site) gives you a good idea of what the film is about, but in short, how far will you go to prove your love to someone?

Super High Me - No official site as of yet, but Super High Me is a play off of the Morgan Spurlock documentary, Super Size Me. Where Morgan spent 30 days eating nothing but McDonalds, comedian Doug Benson spent 30 days smoking marijuana, and 30 days not smoking it. What can I say, I'm a sucker for documentaries.
