Loras Tyrell has a plum new gig on Netflix.

Finn Jones, who plays Margaery Tyrell's brother on HBO's Game of Thrones, has landed the role of Iron Fist in the Netflix-Marvel universe, a role that will see him topline his own series, Mashable has confirmed.

Netflix had no comment.

Netflix has now completed its line-up for The Defenders, which is set to be the final installment of the deal that brought Netflix and Marvel together for a multi-series collaboration. Thus far, the deal has been a success -- or, as successful as you can get when you don't release ratings.

Daredevil, starring Charlie Cox, is set to premiere its second season in March and Krysten Ritter-led Jessica Jones was just renewed for a second season back in January. The streaming network's Luke Cage spin-off is currently in production, being led by Mike Colter, who made his debut in Season 1 of Jessica Jones.

When That Hashtag Show posed it as a possibility in a video posted early Thursday. buzz about Jones' casting began. So did the debate.

In the comic-book series, conceived during the Kung-Fu craze of the 1970s, Iron Fist -- aka Danny Rand -- was white, and has been ever since. Danny's journey begins when he travels at age 9 with his family from New York to a hidden mystical city, where he learns martial arts and comes into a mystical power.

Fans had called for an Asian actor to take on the role; others argued that doing so would reinforce stereotypes.

So apparently Iron Fist should have been cast as an Asian because stereotypes need to be encouraged.— Erik Larsen (@ErikJLarsen) February 25, 2016

Hey, you know what I'm not going to do? Tell Asian-Americans, who've led exactly two TV shows in 25 years, how to feel about Iron Fist.— Matt Wallace (@MattFnWallace) February 25, 2016

Yeah I'm one of many who thought IRON FIST should be an opportunity for a rare Asian male lead in a superhero property. ::shrug::— Joanna Robinson (@jowrotethis) February 25, 2016
