A blaze engulfed the outdoor pool area at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas on Saturday, injuring at least two people, according to local reports.
The fire was first reported at 12:15 p.m. local time and a hotel employee told Mashable that it had been contained by around 1 p.m. The cause remains unclear, but firefighters told the hotel it appears to have started when a palm tree near the pool caught fire. The hotel's fake palm trees, which consist of plastic and foam, burned rapidly due to the flammable materials, authorities told CBS Las Vegas.
Guests were evacuated from the hotel, and a local Fox affiliate reported that at least two victims were left with burns.

The Clark County Fire Department said on Twitter that one person had been taken to the hospital and the damage was mostly relegated to the cabanas and palm trees near the pool deck

The hotel tweeted later in the afternoon to confirm that the fire had been put out with no serious injuries.
