Create a Rhythmic LED Light Show Using a Guitar Pick

A new Kickstarter project helps musicians perform a new kind of light show.

The Firefly is a motion-activated guitar pick that responds to picking and strumming motions, creating a portable light show with synchronized LED flashes. Watch the video above to see how it works.

The guitar pick is roughly the same height and width as the average guitar pick; it's slightly thicker, just more than 3 millimeters thick.

The Firefly is available in several variations. The original responds to your strums; the Air responds to all body motions in addition to picking motions; the Duo lets you select one color for upstroke and another color for downstroke; and the Insanity automatically chooses one color for upstroke and another for downstroke.

The campaign closes on Aug. 14. Interested backers can claim any version of the Firefly with a $49 pledge.
