Breathe easy, Flaming Lips fans: The band is staying together, despite sending out a break-up tweet earlier Thursday.
The tweet has since been deleted, but we got this screengrab:
That led to consternation around the Internet. We contacted Flaming Lips spokesman Andrew Ludwick, who said he "highly doubted" the tweet was for real. Sure enough, minutes later, the band walked it back:

It didn't escape fans' attention that the Flaming Lips happens to have a new EP out, based on the movie version of Ender's Game.
Last year, lead singer Wayne Coyne had this to say about the social service: "My Twitter I think is a lot like me. It's sometimes utterly ridiculous. But I never use it to make fun of people."
