Flash fans, meet Seth Grahame-Smith.

The best-selling author of Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is in negotiations to direct and write The Flash, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The film would mark his debut directorial effort.

Grahame-Smith's first foray into the film world was writing the screenplay for Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter, which came out in 2012 and was panned by critics. He is also writing the screenplay for the Lego Batman Movie and Beetlejuice 2, as well as an adaptation of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, which will finally release in 2016; the film's been in the works since 2009.

Prior to hopping into the film world, Grahame-Smith was an executive producer and writer for the short-lived MTV series The Hard Times of RJ Berger. He also directed two episodes of the series.

The Flash is set to star Ezra Miller as the lightning-fast superhero, also known as Barry Allen. The film's release date is March 3, 2018.

Fans will see glimpses of Flash much sooner than that, though, in the upcoming Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League Part 1, which will be released in 2017.

For a much faster fix, fans can also turn to the hit CW series The Flash, starring Grant Gustin as the titular hero.
