A passenger making threats caused a Delta Air Lines flight from Atlanta to Los Angeles to divert to Albuquerque on Christmas Day.

Flight 81 landed at the Albuquerque International Sunport just after 6 p.m., where authorities met the plane and the man was arrested. The man was not charged, but he was not allowed to get back on the plane.

Daniel Jiron, a spokesman for the airport, said he didn't know the nature of the incident that made the pilot feel he had to land the plane.

However, other passengers on board tweeted that it was because the passenger had been making threats.

Emergency landing in Albuquerque. Some guy was hand cuffed and removed from the plane because he was making threats. I was watching Frozen.— Zach Louis (@ZachLouis4Realz) December 26, 2014

Update: there was a disruptive passenger who was making threats.. So police officers escorted him off. 'Tis the season!— Lauri (@lkspringer) December 26, 2014

Jiron said the FBI was also called to the airport, which is standard in cases like this.

The plane left Albuquerque at about 8 p.m. local time, and arrived in Los Angeles at 8:18 p.m. PT, about two hours late.

And after 7 hours sitting in a plane, we have finally landed in LA!— Lauri (@lkspringer) December 26, 2014
