About a year ago, custom video player service Fliqz received $2.5 million in a second round of funding, on top of the near $1 million the company had already received in angel funding. Now, VentureBeat reports that Fliqz has tacked on another $3.2 million to its second round of funding, from the same investor, Mohr Davidow Ventures.
With a hosted video-service that's somewhat similar to VideoEgg and Brightcove, though doesn't seem to have the same breadth as the other hosted video services, Fliqz has remained pretty low on the radar given the overwhelming amount of attention that's being given to the online video market. It's hosted video services amount to about $50 per month, and Fliqz reportedly has some big name clients such as Major League Baseball and VH1, and recently PBWiki as well.
