With all the Microsoft-Yahoo mess going on today, it may have escaped your memory that there are some other big things going on at the moment - like a Presidential election and, you know, the SuperBowl. We just caught wind of this tool to make your efforts to find the game a bit easier, should you be on the road this weekend.

This timely little mashup that isn't going to be the next Google or Twitter, but certainly is cool and useful in its ability to accomplish one thing well. This one is called FollowTheGame. It is a site that is made to make it easy for folks who might be on the road, for whatever reason, and need to find a radio station wherever they are that is carrying the game they want to hear.

The system is powered by Microsoft's Virtual Earth system mashed with radio power data added by Spatial Point. They actually put a fair amount of work creating the data referenced by the system, looking up all the AM & FM stations carrying the game, determining their coverage area from the FCC database, and loading that into a SQL backend.
