Jacki Wan up and quit the most crucial part of her job: eating.

Better known as @weekendbreakfast, Wan notified her 13,400 Instagram followers that she was taking the month off. After weeks of rich holiday treats and cooking, the 26-year-old Canadian food blogger finally felt too full. She'd simply lost her appetite. Oh, the irony.

So, Wan hit the reset button by starting a New Year's juice cleanse. After a week in, find out whether she's rediscovered her cravings.

Mashable: You're a food blogger. What makes your approach unique?

@weekendbreakfast: It's simply a photo diary of my favorite meal of the day: breakfast. I think it's always important to start off your day right! Whether it's a slice of fresh bread, spread with butter and topped with some soft scrambled eggs with a nice cup of coffee, or just a simple bowl of your favorite cereal, you absolutely need it to fuel you for your day.

And yet you took a break from it for a cleanse. Why now?

Well, the holidays (and especially Christmas) are a time to get together with friends and family and it usually involves food. I was simply overstuffed with brunches, lunches, potlucks, turkey and everyone's Christmas baking madness. It was to the point that I lost my craving for food and had no clue what I wanted to eat. And that's quite the problem!

If you could imagine having finished a full-course meal with dessert and you are actually regretting that last bite because you feel like you are 110% full, and then someone asks you what you want to eat tomorrow, you probably won't be able to come up with anything. Actually, the last thing you might want to talk about is food.

That was the exact feeling I had after the Christmas week, so I decided to start my month-long cleanse.

What kind of cleanse?

The 28-day Super Juice Me! cleanse. It's basically a specific meal plan with four juices a day, involving a wide varieties of fruits, vegetables, seeds, natural plant-based protein, etc. I've actually completed the challenge before, so I know it will work to "reset" my cravings.

Are you worried about disappointing your followers with your hiatus?

Hmm ... not disappointment, specifically, but I was worried they might be wondering,"Where are you?" That's why I made sure to let them know what's up and also gave a specific day when I will be returning to my breakfast blogging.

Hey everyone! I'm on the monthlong #superjuiceme cleansing challenge again in January! Shall be the first thing crossed off my 2015 bucket list! See you guys on February 1! Wholemeal alphabet #biscuits A photo posted by weekendbreakfast (@weekendbreakfast) on Dec 12, 2014 at 8:43am PST

What is the food you miss most?

There's actually too much to list out. But for breakfast, I seriously wouldn't mind a nice cup of Earl Grey Soy London Fog and a big chewy oatmeal cookie right now.

What kind of food and photographs do your followers like the most?

The simplest ones. Like my favorite egg-in-a-hole or banana toast.

Planning to change any cooking or blogging strategies when you come back?

Yes! Whenever my cravings start, I would go on Instagram and drool on my favorite foodies' blogs. There are so many things I've never tried, nor made before.

What is your food New Year's resolution (besides finishing your cleanse)?

Try new things, be adventurous! :D
