The service recently released their API, paving the way for nifty apps that reimagine location data, and they've pushed their app into 50 new cities around the globe. Today, Foursquare is cozying up to the world's most popular social network, enabling users to automatically share their check-ins, mayorships and unlocked badges with Facebook.
Foursquare's new Facebook integration currently only works for BlackBerry and Android devices (and via mobile web), but it will be supported once version 1.4.3 of the iPhone app is approved by Apple (the app has already been submitted for approval).
To turn on Facebook sharing, navigate to your onsite settings and follow the steps to authorize Facebook Connect to allow publishing. Once you're done, you can then optionally select to have all your check-ins posted, or just a status update to announce that you've become a mayor of a venue or unlocked a new badge. Either way, your Facebook friends could soon become privy to your exciting (or mundane) outdoorsy jaunts.
