The grocery chain retailer has agreed to place the Foursquare clings in 30 of its stores' windows, a gesture that serves as an important handshake with the location-sharing startup. Whole Foods is set to receive and post its clings later this week.
Of course Whole Foods is not alone, other brands include lululemon and a sampling of additional retailers. Clings can already be seen in the wild, as Foursquare told business owners to post photos of their clings to Twitter using the hashtag #4sqcling. You may recall that Foursquare introduced the official clings as a bonus to its claim-your-own-venue offering for businesses. The window decals challenge everyone from Yelp, Google and Facebook who are all targeting the same space -- storefront windows.
