Marvel Comics announced last year that black superhero Sam Wilson -- formerly known as The Falcon -- would soon inherit another iconic character's mantle and name: Captain America. Now issue one of Captain America: Sam Wilson has debuted. In it, Wilson fights a new enemy: the Sons of the Serpent, a recurring Marvel supervillain group characterized by their extreme, racist attitude.

Now the hosts of Fox News' Fox and Friends have picked up on the storyline -- and they're not exactly thrilled with it. The breakfast show hosts not only call Sam Wilson's appointment as Captain America a PR stunt, but also say that his "new, odd enemy" portrays "ordinary Americans" as villainous.

"So who is this serpent?" Tucker Carlson says. "Is this serpent an Islamic extremism [sic], an ISIS member bent on destroying western civilization? No. The serpent is an American who has misgivings about unlimited illegal immigration and the costs associated with it."
