The legacy of Kurt Cobain reached peak weird on Monday when a selection of memorabilia from Nirvanna's MTV Unplugged performance went up for auction.

One notable item is a lock of Cobain's hair. But wait for it -- this lock of hair includes a few caveats that put it above the average unusual rock star memento.

According to the auction listing, these particular strands of hair were not only taken from Cobain's own king of grunge head, but is also the hair left over from a doll created using Cobain's very own locks. Courtney Love commissioned the doll for her daughter Frances Bean Cobain.

Such an intriguing gift would pique the interest of any normal Nirvana fan, but Jezebel took a deeper look at the doll maker behind the gift, Dame Darcy.

Darcy, a well-known figure in comic circles, is a "sequential artist, cartoonist, illustrator, writer, fine artist, musician, animator and filmmaker" who sold dolls in the pages of her comic Meatcake. Darcy and Love were friends, and Darcy even taught Love to craft dolls, which can be seen in a video posted to her YouTube account.

Nevermind the other off-putting iconic memorabilia -- this one really does take it all.
