Bill Hader and Fred Armisen had to wear many hats while making their docuparody Documentary Now! One moment they were a Grey Gardens-esque mother-daughter pair; another, they were folk rock musicians; yet another, they were hipster journalists on the trail of a drug cartel.

To celebrate the SNL alums' chameleon skills and their upcoming series -- which finds the pair parodying six well-known documentary films and their formats -- IFC has put together the digital movie posters below, which you're seeing first on Mashable.

The first of the six tributes to famous documentaries will premiere on Thursday, August 20 at 10:00PM ET/PT on IFC.

Dame Helen Mirren serves as host for the series, which is executive produced by Armisen, Hader, Seth Meyers and SNL creator Lorne Michaels.
