Frozen fans (and their parents), don't expect to 'let it go' any time soon. The Disney blockbuster is officially getting the Broadway treatment and hitting the stage in 2018.

FROZEN is slated for Broadway spring 2018 following a pre‐Broadway engagement summer 2017 https://t.co/fMTWzu5XAi— Frozen (@FrozenBroadway) February 9, 2016

Film composers Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez will write original music for the stage version of Disney's icy blockbuster, including beloved songs from the 2013 film and entirely new compositions. The book will be written by Jennifer Lee, who also collaborated on the short film Frozen Fever and is currently working on Frozen 2. Golden Globe-winner and Tony nominee Alex Timbers is set to direct, with choreography by Peter Darling (Billy Elliot, Matilda the Musical).

The technical team includes music supervisor Stephen Oremus (Wicked), sound designer Peter Hylenski (Something Rotten!), lighting designer Natasha Katz (Cats, Long Day's Journey into the Night), and scene/costume designer Bob Crowley (An American in Paris, Aladdin).

Casting and additional production details are yet to be determined. In the meantime, Disney and ABC also announced an upcoming Frozen holiday special, which will feature the returning voice talents of Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel and Josh Gad -- though it doesn't have a premiere date just yet.
