It's 2015, and the adorable animal is king.

Sure, most of us can think of an adorable animal in our lives, or on our Facebook feed. But rarely are animals recognized for their personality, as well as their good looks.

The Comedy Wildlife Awards hopes to change that. The contest, based out of Tanzania, honors the world's funniest wild animal photography. And while the contest is just in its very first year, the competition hopes to highlight up-and-coming animal photographers, while bringing attention to real abuse:

“I am also hugely passionate about conserving our wild environments, which is why it’s so important to make sure that when we are taking pictures, we are also taking care of the creatures we are photographing," Paul Hoynson-Hicks, the competition's founder, wrote in a press release.

The competition's winners were announced last month, but the photos just started circulating last week. Look, and "squeeee" for yourself.
