The eyePhone, as it's called, is just an instrument to make people use Twitcher, which in turn will be used by evil overlord Mom to infect everyone with the Twit Worm, turning users into zombies.
Fry doesn't know this, of course. After waiting for hours to buy an eyePhone, he finally reaches the counter. With a bored expression on his face, the clerk tells Fry, “OK, it’s $500. You have no choice of carrier. The battery can’t hold a charge, and the reception isn’t very..” Fry interrupts him, screaming: “Shut up and take my money!”
