How the dragons in 'Game of Thrones' Season 4 were created

We really hate to break this to you, but it turns out the dragons in Game of Thrones are not real and simply the results of tireless special effects work.

Take a moment to get over that reeling truth, and then watch this clip from visual effects company Pixomondo, who are responsible for the fiery beasts that the Targaryens call household pets.

The VFX company released a similar video last year that showed the making of the dragons in GoT's third season. The team painstakingly studied the movements of eagles and bats to perfect the mannerisms of the beasts as they flew.

But more impressive than the intricate details of the dragons that Pixomondo created are Emilia Clarke's (Daenerys Targaryen) acting abilities. Case in point:
