Same-sex marriage is now legal in the United States, but the festivities are not contained domestically. Even the people of Westeros are joining in on the celebration.

Game of Thrones' official Twitter account posted a sweet clay figure of Renly Baratheon, a gay character on the show, celebrating before a rainbow backdrop.

Though homosexuality is only alluded to in the George R. R. Martin's books, the HBO show explicitly shows same-sex relationships and tackles gay rights, which is rare for a fantasy series. In the show, gay characters are forced to hide their relationships and are actively persecuted for their sexuality.

If marriage equality existed in the Game of Thrones universe, Renly wouldn't have had to marry Margaery Tyrell in the first place for political reason. Here's hoping that one day same-sex marriage will be the law of the land in Westeros.
