The 'Game of Thrones' Season Finale Ratings Are In....

Game of Thrones' Season 4 finale has slayed its Season 3 ender in the ratings.

Sunday night's season finale was up 32% from last year, garnering 7.1 million viewers in its first airing at 9 p.m. ET and 9.3 million total, when Sunday night's two additional plays are included.

This season, the series initial airings have averaged 6.8 million viewers, up 37% from last year's average, and its gross audience (all platforms and repeats) has seen a 29% jump, averaging a whopping 18.6 million viewers. With the latter figure, GoT officially surpasses Sopranos as the most-watched HBO series ever.

Other ratings figures of note: Freshman comedy Silicon Valley now stands as the network's most-viewed half-hour, with an average gross audience of 5.7 million viewers, and Veep has officially closed out it's most-viewed season yet with a 4.6 million gross audience.
