SAN FRANCISCO -- When the Night's Watch is away, Game of Thrones actors will play -- their costars' characters.

Sure, any part on the HBO mega-hit is an actor's dream role. And lucky actors don't want to look a gift dire wolf in the mouth. With a little cajoling, however, we got the GoT stars to name their second-best dream role; the part they'd like to tackle if they weren't playing their own -- and had them do their best impressions of their favorite role.

While on the black carpet at Monday's Season 5 premiere in San Francisco, we spoke to everyone from George R.R. Martin to Peter Dinklage and had a little fun re-imagining them in the wrong part. (Season 5 kicks off Sunday, April 12, on HBO.)

Emilia Clarke, who plays the Mother of Dragons, gave us a mini preview of her character's journey in Season 5 before doing her spot-on impression of Ser Sandor 'the Hound' Clegane, played by hulking six-and-a-half-foot-tall Scottish actor Rory McCann.

It's "dragons unleashed" this season, she said, and "the real Targaryen leader in Daenerys is being unleashed at the same time."

The 7-foot-tall DJ who plays Hodor, Kristian Nairn, told us the story behind his facial tattoos (he got drunk and doesn't regret it) before taking on the mantle of Old Nan, who had some of his favorite dialogue of the series in Season 1.

Some of the actors did their best impressions for our camera while some didn't have enough time amid the fray, but each told us their pick -- we've put it all together in the gallery below.

Game of Thrones actor roulette, anyone?
