It's a match made in medieval heaven.

Game of Thrones writer Bryan Cogman will be writing a script for Disney's latest live-action reboot, The Sword in the Stone. The original 1963 film told the story of a young orphan who becomes king after pulling a magically stuck sword out of an anvil; it's loosely based on the T.H. White's King Arthur novel of the same name.

Cogman seems pretty pumped about the project, tweeting out a photo of his best young Arthur impression.

The writer has been a part of Game of Thrones since Season 1, and has also produced and co-produced numerous episodes.

This latest announcement follows Disney's recent trend of rebooting animated classics into live-action blockbusters. The studio has successfully done this with Alice in Wonderland, Maleficent and Cinderella, and has announced that at least 12 more are in the works.

Upcoming remakes include Beauty and the Beast, Mulan and The Little Mermaid, as well as more surprising ones like Chip 'n' Dale and Fantasia.

At this rate, if there's a Disney animated classic you love, you can rest assured knowing it can and will be remade.
