The U.S. Supreme Court struck down gay marriage bans nationwide in a landmark decision on Friday, legalizing same-sex marriage in every state in America.
In a 5-4 ruling, the court stated that the Fourteenth Amendment requires states to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples and that states must recognize same-sex marriages performed out of state.
Within moments, Twitter was flooded with support for the court's ruling and relief that same-sex marriage is now protected under the law, nationwide.
