Oh, to be young and waiting for someone to ask you to prom.
As girls flocked to the mall searching for that perfect, poofy and bedazzled dress, Anthony Martinez was waiting for someone to ask him to prom. And, as his Twitter feed suggests (in subtle all-caps), he really, really wanted a date.

Martinez took to Tumblr to give a huge shoutout to his new date.
"Guess who got asked to prom! BY A STRAIGHT GUY (Army pants). he’s my best friend, and a real man given the fact he has the guts to fulfill my gay student council dream of always helping out planning dances, and never getting asked. I couldn’t ask for a better person in my life," Martinez wrote.
One Tumblr user asked Martinez, "Is he going to dance with you all night?" Martinez, now in full-on prom mofe, has some rather ambitious plans for the two.
"I'm assuming since we are taking picture then going to eat then going too (sic) the dance then going out to either watch a movie or hang out with our friends. But, we'd dance together always even if he didn’t ask me. We're just weird. Believe me. "
