We’re thrilled to share the latest agenda for this year’s Social Good Summit, which now includes Geena Davis, Nicholas Negroponte, Barbara Bush and many more.

Academy Award-winning actor Geena Davis will participate in the Women and Girls Lead panel, Nicholas Negroponte, chairman and founder of One Laptop per Child, will discuss how to achieve universal primary education for children worldwide, and Barbara Bush, the CEO and co-founder of Global Health Corps, will be speaking about youth and mobilization.

These prominent figures join our dynamic lineup of speakers who are redefining the social good space. They include Ted Turner, Lance Armstrong, Elie Wiesel, and Christy Turlington.

Presented by Mashable, 92Y and the UN Foundation, the Social Good Summit is a four-day event that explores how new media and technology provide innovative solutions for the world’s greatest challenges.

New Confirmed Speakers

Academy Award Winning-Actor Geena Davis is widely recognized for her advocacy of women and girls. She is the founder of the non-profit Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media and its programming arm See Jane, which engages film and television creators to dramatically increase the percentages of female characters – and reduce gender stereotyping – in media made for children 11 and under.

Nicholas Negroponte is founder and chairman of the One Laptop per Child non-profit. He was co-founder and director of the MIT Media Laboratory, and a pioneer in the field of computer-aided design.

Barbara Bush is CEO and co-founder of Global Health Corps, an organization that aims to mobilize a global community of emerging leaders to build the movement for health equity. She is also a member of UNICEF’s Next Generation Steering Committee and a Draper Richards Foundation Social Entrepreneur.

Yossi Vardi, one of Israel’s early entrepreneurs, co-founded, led, funded and helped build more than 70 high-tech, energy, natural resources, and clean-tech companies. As the founding investor of Mirabilis Ltd, Vardi co-pioneered instant messaging, and was the creator of ICQ, one of the Internet’s earliest social successes.

Elizabeth Vargas is co-anchor of ABC News’ 20/20. As an award-winning anchor and correspondent, Vargas has traveled the world covering breaking news stories, reporting in-depth investigations and conducting newsmaker interviews.

Kate James is the chief communications officer of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation where she oversees communications and partners with the advocacy and policy teams in Global Development, Global Health and United States programs.

Howard Buffet is the executive director of the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, which funds initiatives aimed at improving the standard of living and quality of life for the world’s most impoverished and marginalized populations.

Liel Liebowitz is an assistant professor of communications at New York University, researching video games and digital media.
