George Clooney is heading back to his TV roots -- sorta.
British network ITV has confirmed that the actor will appear in a sketch filmed on the set of Downton Abbey, which will promote the channel's annual charity drive, Text Santa.

Other Downton cast members will also reportedly appear in the short, in which Clooney plays an American character who attends a wedding at the Grantham home.

Downton star Hugh Bonneville, who plays Lord Grantham, appeared in 2014's Monuments Men, which Clooney wrote, directed and starred in.
In May, the ER alum's visit to Highclere Castle, the setting for Downton, spurred rumors that he and finance Amal Alamuddin were considering it as a wedding venue, but it turns out, he was there to film the one-off sketch, which will not air as part of the show's regular season.
Hey, we'll take what we can get.
