ANAHEIM, California -- It's been a long time since George Clooney was in a big summer movie -- we'll let him remind you the last time that happened.
But in a couple of weeks he'll appear in Tomorrowland, the original story from Disney that had its world premiere Saturday night.
And what better place to celebrate the opening of Tomorrowland than at Disneyland itself?
Disney rolled out the blue carpet Saturday night at AMC Downtown Disney -- followed by an afterparty at the actual Tomorrowland, where the cast and hundreds of guests rode Space Mountain, Star Tours and Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin without waiting in line.
Mashable was there livestreaming the event -- and Clooney stopped by to talk about the film, its badly needed call for optimism, and Disney CEO Bob Iger's idea of what to offer all moviegoers who catch the movie, which was helmed The Incredibles director Brad Bird.
We'll be watching the mailbox closely.
