LONDON -- George Martin, the producer who guided the Beatles from being an un-polished and un-signed act into a band that would shape the musical landscape, has died aged 90.
The Londoner's influence went beyond the Beatles, he worked with dozens of acts such as Elton John, Cilla Black, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Jeff Beck and Celine Dion among others. An all-round musical talent, Martin was a born experimenter who not only produced and arranged but composed and conducted.
