Actor George Takei is known for his highly active social media presence, which might now include Google+.
Fans on the platform flattered Takei after making the hashtag #TakeiTuesday trend for 24 hours, eventually earning the number two spot on Google+.
Takei announced on Facebook Wednesday morning that he would consider whether he had the time to establish a new base on Google+, considering he already has a healthy following on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.
"Brad said if we get 250K fans to "circle" me (did I say that right?) it might be worth populating the profile with content. So, we'll see," the actor wrote on his
Though Takei's official Google+ page is blank for now, there were more than 10,000 fans in his circle within an hour. Assuming the rate continues and Takei sticks to his word, the page will likely see content by the end of the day.
Last week, Takei publicly vented his frustration with Facebook, claiming updates to the social network’s news feed were preventing fans from seeing his posts. Could Google+ prove to be more accommodating for Takei?
