Two reported dead in shooting in Germany

Several people have been killed by a gunman in the Bavaria region of south Germany.

At about 11:30 a.m. local time, an 18-year-old man, whose identity has not been released, shot a woman from his locally-registered Mercedes in the town of Tiefenthal, near Ansbach, police said in a statement. She was 82 years old according to reports.

The woman died at the scene and the man fled in his car, then shooting and killing a man on a bicycle in the nearby town of Rammersdorf, according to police. The suspect also shot at a pedestrian and the driver of another vehicle. He has since been apprehended at a petrol station.

The gunman is thought to be related to the 82-year-old woman, the BBC reports.

A press conference on the incident is expected Friday afternoon.
