The investment comes as the service celebrates more than 700,000 users who are generating 10 million unique ratings and checkins per month. That's more than double the activity the startup was seeing just a few months ago.
COO Fraser Kelton shares that GetGlue parent company AdaptiveBlue will use the funds to expand its platform approach to social entertainment. The company has applications for iPhone, Android and iPad but intends to extend its service to Facebook Pages, third-party mobile applications and set top boxes through its newly released API and widgets.

The company has signed on more than 25 entertainment partners, including HBO and Universal Pictures, to add value in the form of rewards for members who use the apps to check in to television shows, movies and other entertainment content.
