Watch G-Form Drop Its New Xtreme iPhone 5 Case From Space

Case maker G-Form demonstrated its new durable line of cases Thursday with a video dropping its new iPhone 5 case from the stratosphere, 100,000 feet in the air.

To make the fall happen, the company tied one end of the case to a weather balloon, and sent an iPod touch 5 -- which can also fit inside the iPhone 5 case -- into space. During its travels the case had to endure negative 60 degrees Fahrenheit temperatures, as well as high winds and maximum drop speeds.

The iPod touch survived the fall in perfect working condition, and the whole experience was captured on the touch's built-in camera.

XTREME Cases for iPhone 4 and 5, iPad, iPad mini, iPod touch and Samsung Galaxy S III will all be shown off at CES next week and will be available in late January 2013 from G-Form's website.
