Just in case you take the predictions of a late '80s comedy sequel seriously, you may want to say goodbye to your loved ones prior to Valentine's Day this year.

Back in 1989, a character in Ghostbusters II predicted that the holiday, in 2016, would mark the end of the world. What a bummer!

The prediction comes during Peter Venkman's so-bad-it's-wonderful psychic show The World of the Psychic, which he's been hosting since the Ghostbusters disbanded. Venkman's guest include Milton Angland, played by Kevin Dunn, who predicts that the world will end on New Year's Eve, 1989. Angland's prediction is mostly correct, though the Ghostbusters stop the event from happening in the film.

Venkman's second guest is Elaine, a psychic who claims to have met an alien at the Holiday Inn in Paramus, who tells her that the end of the world will occur on Feb. 14, 2016.

According to Elaine, the alien had rented a room at the Holiday Inn, or decorated its spaceship to look like a room at the Holiday Inn. Venkman's response was, let's say, less-than-enthused.

Unfortunately, the new Ghostbusters won't be able to stop the alien apocalypse, as the film is set to release on July 15, 2016.

For the sake of ghost-fighting comedy, let's hope Elaine was wrong.
