12-year-old runs a half-marathon thinking it was a 5K, wins well-earned medal

Twelve-year-old LeeAdianez Rodriguez accidentally ran a half-marathon. She thought it was a 5K race so she only trained to run three miles. Into the fourth mile, she found out she was actually running a half-marathon, which is 13.1 miles. Rodriguez didn’t give up. She ended up finishing the half-marathon with a time of 2:43:31 and was awarded a medal.
