LOS ANGELES -- A blockbuster #GirlBoss is heading to Netflix, Mashable has confirmed.

The streaming giant is turning Sophia Amoruso's #GirlBoss, a New York Times bestseller, into a comedy series.

The book follows Amoruso as she shares how she went from "dumpster diving" to founding popular online fashion retailer Nasty Gal. Kay Cannon, writer of the Pitch Perfect franchise, is on board as showrunner and co-executive producer alongside Charlize Theron, Beth Kono, Laverne McKinnon and Amoruso.

Amoruso confirmed the series by Instagramming the Variety article that broke the news on Thursday evening.

Word of the show coincided with some bad news for Nasty Gal: While Amoruso and her personal #GirlBoss brand are thriving, the retail company is not. On Thursday, Nasty Gal laid off 10% of its staff, according to reports.
