Lea Michele, as Mckinley High's leading lady Rachel Berry, gave Glee the musical send-off it deserved with a moving performance of "This Time."

Written and composed by castmate Darren Criss, the song served as the series finale's original goodbye anthem. In that "Dreams Come True" episode, Rachel sees a plaque with Finn Hudson's face on it (cue tears). Finn died on Glee after actor Cory Monteith (who played Finn) died in real life. Monteith and Michele were a couple onscreen and offscreen.

On Thursday, Criss earned an Emmy nomination for "This Time" (which you can listen to, above) in the Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics category.

Can't believe I got nominated for an Emmy! TY @MrRPMurphy @AdamAnders @alxanders @msleamichele @bradbuecker for bringing "This Time" to life— Darren Criss (@DarrenCriss) July 16, 2015
