In the course of their career, the Eagles sold more than 150 million albums, and six of their album titles rose to No. 1 on the charts. The band's music was built on the warm and infectious songwriting of Don Henley and Glenn Frey, who died on Monday at the age of 67.

Here are six of the group's finest songs, all from the golden age of country-rock in the early- and mid-70s. (The dates correspond to year of the song's original release). Frey co-wrote four of them, "Lyin' Eyes," "Take It Easy," "Tequila Sunrise" and "New Kid in Town."

Enjoy the memories.

Lyin' Eyes, 1975

Take It Easy, 1972

Already Gone, 1974

Tequila Sunrise, 1973

New Kid in Town, 1976

Peaceful Easy Feeling, 1972
