Quick Pitch: Glydo is a content discovery service that understands what you are doing now and recommends related high-quality content.
Genius Idea: Discovering good stories, interesting news and content is usually an art form or a chance happening. Glydo removes the guesswork and automates the process.
The Firefox add-on works as you browse and uses semantic contextual analysis technology to understand what you're looking at and to recommend a ton of content — related news, videos, tweets, information (ie. Wikipedia entries) and webpages — in an always-updating ticker at the bottom of your browser. You can also optionally scroll through suggested content or select one of the buttons to view a specific content type -- like videos -- in a pop-up.
On a test drive, Glydo's ability to find relevant and related content was quite impressive. News, tweets and videos were especially interesting to look at in the context of page content. Ultimately the plugin could be both a browsing assistant and the ultimate time-wasting utility (for those of who tend to go down tangential paths).
