Beleaguered General Motors on Tuesday announced the latest in a string of recent vehicle recalls, this time a 2.4-million notice related to four security flaws.
The recall affects 1,339,355 Chevrolet Traverses, GMC Acadias, Buick Enclaves and Saturn Outlooks, which are subject to a safety lap belt cable glitch that can separate, increasing the risk of injury for front-seat passengers. Another 1,075,102 4-speed 2004-2008 Chevrolet Malibus and Pontiac G6s from 2005-2008 have a shift cable that could wear out.

Two smaller recalls included in this round include 1,402 Cadillac Escalades and Escalade ESVs from the 2015 model year. Airbags in those vehicles could only partially deploy because of an insufficiently heated plastic weld attached to the passenger-side airbag. Finally, 58 Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD full-size pickups from model year 2015 are being recalled because retention clips attached to the generator fuse block can become loose and lead to a fire.
No deaths have been linked to the flaws. More info about the affected models can be found here.
