To enable the feature in Gmail, go to Gmail Labs > Settings, and enable "Google Maps previews in mail." In Google Buzz, when you paste a Google Maps link into the post box, you'll automatically get an image preview of that location.
The map is interactive, but only U.S. addresses have this function at this time; Google claims it's working on enabling international addresses, too.
