Gmail Is Making It Easier to Embed Google Drive Files

Google updated its Gmail for Android platform Thursday to include an "Insert From Drive" option. This enables users to input Google Drive files directly into an email sent via the Gmail app on phones and tablets.

Previously, files were added using the traditional attaching method and clicking the Drive icon at the bottom of the screen. Now users can simply select the drop-down menu at the top of the screen and click the "Insert From Drive" tab. The update also allows users to share files with other Gmail accounts when the file is already embedded in the email.

It's unknown as of now whether the update will come to the iOS app in the future.

The change joins another round of Gmail updates rolled out over the past few days: the email program added 13 new languages to its settings, bringing the total number of language preferences to 71.
