GoFish's purchase of Bolt.com, which aimed to salvage Bolt.com from a lawsuit and subsequent $10 million settlement with Universal Music, has fallen apart. The stock-for-stock transaction had Bolt.com going to GoFish for $30 million and was reported in the New York Times back in February (now behind a paywall).

Licensing concerns regarding Bolt.com's liabilities are being blamed, although it seems just as possible that GoFish simply couldn't afford to make the purchase and cover Bolt.com's debts. Bolt's President admits on his blog that the deal has "not yet closed", but it seems unlikely that it ever will.
