It's not just the Apple Watch that's in short supply. The new gold MacBook is in high demand, too.
According to Apple's U.S. online store, shipping estimates for the gold version of the new MacBook are between three and four weeks, compared with shipment times of just one to three days for the silver or space gray laptops.
This resembles the demand we saw for the gold iPhone 5S in 2013. It was more than two months before supply for the 5S seemed to catch up with demand.
If you were thinking about trying to get a new MacBook at an Apple store, think again. Although you can have the new MacBook shipped to an Apple Store, the stores themselves don't appear to have the device in stock at this time.
