LAS VEGAS -- While the market is already saturated with smartwatches -- and will become even more so later this year with new products, including the Apple Watch -- most are just Bluetooth devices, connecting the watch with a smartphone.

But a new product announced by GoldKey at the 2015 International CES is a standalone smartphone that allows users to make and receive phone calls and install Android apps directly on the watch face.

Called the Secure Communicator, the device -- which runs on Android KitKat software -- is essentially a smartphone built into a watch. You can pop out your existing phone's SIM card and use it for the Secure Communicator, so you can leave all other devices at home.

While it's not unheard of for a smartwatch to have actual phone capabilities, it certainly is rare -- and many still require a separate smartphone to install or modify apps.

In addition to doing what most smartwatches can already do -- like surf the web and play music -- it comes with a ton of security features, such as dual-factor authentication to get into email and encrypted cloud storage. The company even gives you a private telephone number to call people that also use the service. You'll feel like James Bond in just a few taps.

Similar to Apple Pay, you'll be able to make transactions with participating retail vendors at checkout. But GoldKey says there's an additional layer of security with the device to protect against the risk of compromising personal and credit card information.

It also touts a dual-core processor, a built-in speaker for playing music, a 5MP camera for photos and HD videos, a wristband antenna and built-in GPS. There's a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot and a battery that lasts up to 24 hours on one charge.

The GoldKey Secure Communicator costs $399.95 as a standalone wearable smartphone and $199.95 with a $19.95 monthly premium services membership.
