Google Calendar Goes Down

Google Calendar Goes Down

If you just finished sleeping off the weekend and are in the process of missing your first appointments of the day, we have a convenient excuse for you: Google Calendar is down.

As per most outages of any service with significant scale, tweets are pouring in as users scramble to figure out what they were supposed to be doing today.

For now, Google Calendar is either not loading or eventually serving up a message reading: “Server Error Google Calendar is temporarily unavailable. Please try back later.”

You may recall that the service went down for several hours back in May. No word yet from Google on the cause of today’s outage – we’ll update here when we know more.

Update: As of 11:36 a.m. ET, Google says, "We're investigating reports of an issue with Google Calendar. We will provide more information shortly."
