Apparently not all police officers in the Mountain View, California area have gotten the memo about Google's self-driving cars.

Facebook user Zandr Milewski posted a photo of what appears to be one of the company's test cars being pulled over by a police officer for driving too slow Thursday.

//

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));

The photo shows one of Google's two-door pod cars, which the company began testing around Mountain View in June. Each car is supervised by a human driver in the passenger seat, and its speed limit is capped at 25 mph.

Milewski wrote in his post that he spoke to the car's "driver," who told him some police officers are confused by the concept of self-driving cars, and this apparently isn't the first time one has been pulled over for driving too slow.

It's not clear whether a ticket was actually issued, but "blame it on the robot car" seems like a pretty good excuse to talk your way out of one.
