HBO Go Finally Comes to Google Chromecast

Big news for fans of Game of Thrones and Girls: HBO Go will finally offer support for Google's Chromecast device, which plugs into any HDTV to stream online videos and music, controlled from your tablet or smartphone.

HBO Go grants subscribers access to the network's current and previous content, from series and movies to specials through its website or accompanying app. Now, that content can streamed directly to the TV with the Chromecast device. The $35 HDMI dongle, which launched this summer, already supports Vimeo, Redbox Instant, Netflix, YouTube, Pandora and Hulu Plus.

It's also possible to "cast" shows and movies beyond the app from HBOGo.com using the Chrome browser on a laptop.

To access the HBO Go support, Chromecast users must download the free iOS or Android mobile app update.

Google hasn't yet announced how many Chromecast devices have been sold since the device was announced in June at Google I/O.
