Google just can't keep itself from cutting its phones' prices. Mere weeks after reducing the original, $379 price of its Nexus 5X to $349, the phone's price has been even more severely slashed, down to $299.

It's a part of a Valentine's Day promotion, which also includes the matte gold version of the Nexus 6P, whose starting price has been cut from $499 to $459.

Google threw in some other deals into the mix for good measure: Buy any Nexus 6P, and you'll get a $50 credit toward a purchase of a Huawei smartwatch; if you buy a Nexus 5X, you get a free case.

We've got some good news for folks in Europe as well: Not only the promotion is valid there, but the price cuts have been ever more severe. The starting price of a Nexus 5X has been cut by €80, from €429 to €349, while the Nexus 6P's price was cut from €649 to €549. We've checked the prices in several European countries where the phones are available and the price cuts seem to be the same across the board.

The UK seems to be left out, though -- there's no mention of price cuts there and the starting price for the Nexus 5X and 6P are £299 and £449, respectively.

The promotion is valid from Jan. 26 to Feb. 12.
