Google Donates 17,000 Nexus Tablets to Hurricane Sandy Communities

Google has donated 17,000 Nexus tablets, with a total retail value of over $2.7 million, to libraries, senior centers and business and community centers in areas affected by Hurricane Sandy.

The tablets will be distributed to central locations in those areas. The exact list of locations can be found here.

“Private donations like these are critical in aiding local communities in our ongoing recovery. We thank Google for helping New York build back better than before,” said New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.

The launch of Google's Nexus 10 tablet was affected by Hurricane Sandy last year, as its October 2012 event was postponed due to the storm.
